Headband Love

Super easy project I found on a blog. http://cally-cruze.blogspot.com/2010/02/easy-headband-tutorial.html

I actually found it a while ago and finally got around to trying it. It's a perfect project for left over fabric or to add that special touch to a dress.

My Future Glorious Vegetable Garden

I have BIG plans. I've wanted to grow a big, glorious vegetable garden for many years now. However, with the world of medicine conducting all of its change-overs on July 1st, it has made it difficult to invest in a garden. I am stoked to be in one location over the summer and plan on having three consecutive summers in this same place. It seems worth my while to finally start my garden.

My gardens of the past consisted of herbs and tomatoes, which have been wonderful. I love having fresh herbs to cook with and delicious, warm, flavorful home grown tomatoes to do... EVERYTHING with! Herbs are essential in my new glorious garden.

Like I said, I've got BIG, BIG plans. Being by the beach, we have about 80% sand for soil, so I am going to do a garden above the ground. I can't wait!!!

Gettin' Down on the Farm

We went to see our friend Sarah in Durham yesterday. She took us out to one of her favorite places, Maple View Dairy Farm.

It made me think of an independently owned Braums. The little house on the top of the hill had raw milk for sale in glass quarts. We bought chocolate!

They also had their own ice cream in about 20 different flavors. I got two scoops. Chocolate and Mint Chocolate Chip. YUMMY!

The porch on the little house had rocking chairs from one end to the other facing the west so we could enjoy watching the sunset over the dairy farm complete with cows, barn, and silo.

Fat Camp isn’t working out so well; Big a$$

Here I have been exercising my booty off and I have gained 3 pounds and a dress size! Huh!?!

Granted my appetite has been raging and my will to fight off milk chocolate weakened, but really? I’ve devoted the last 21 days to beachifying my bod and I’ve not only hit the wall, but I seemed to have bounced off it like it’s made of rubber.

I know how it works, I have to eat less and exercise more. I can control my eating only when I not working out hard. When I’m working out, MAN, I’m starving!

Maybe I’m a little too focused on my body image right now. When we came home from the gym we turned on some cartoons. In the kitchen I was making lunch and I heard something yell from the TV, “Hey Big a$$!” I’m like, “What the…?”

Then I hear, “Whatcha up to, Big a$$?!” I’m thinkin’ “This is Nick Jr. Network!” I run in to figure out what’s going on and turn off the TV permanently if need be. I see a cartoon on with a dancing blue capitol S, with eyes and legs.

Big S.

Washington DC, we left our calling card

WASHINGTON DC - The Cannon Family once again left their mark on one of the greatest cities in the world. In company with other Cannon hurled upon cities such as Paris, London, San Antonio, Orlando, and Dallas, just to name a few, the Cannon's have puked their way into another city.

After the first long day in DC the Cannon family stepped off the bus, Cougar projectile ralphed his $7.00 National Mall Hot Dog all over the sidewalk. What did they do? Walked away... yes... they walked away.

Greetings From Fat Camp

aka my work out goals while in NC

The morning started with Yoga class, which was just wonderful! Jacob, the instructor, dropped so many hints about us buying his book I broke down and got a copy. I made him write a note in it and sign it for me. We'll see if it can help me find inner peace : ).

Yoga was followed by spin class. Spin class was just the worst! The instructor had to be 70+ in age, and other than myself, he was the youngest one in the class. I am NOT biased against the elderly, most of those folks smoke me every other day. This guy was subbing for the real instructor, I'm hoping. The music made me want to claw my ears out of my head. He said it was some of his Ethiopian Musical Favorites... really?

Finished the morning with an ab work out on the ab throne.

Lunch consisted of Gelato. Fat camp point losses.

Back at fat camp the evening was filled with Elliptical Rider Cardio for an hour, burning, according to the machine, 465 calories.

Stretching.

The cherry on top was sitting in the hot tub for 10 minutes post work out. I feel really excellent right now.

North Carolina

I have one goal while we are in NC: get into beach shape. I've got a long summer at the beach to look forward to and I need to start it out right! I got a temp membership at the local Y here, and since I've got nothing else to do, I am going to work out like a .. I don't know, something that works out A LOT... and I am going to drop those pounds of chocolate bars I put on my hips when I reluctantly moved twice in 3 months.

Yes, a new and dramatically improved Stacie will be driving back to Florida come the end of April.

Only Juliet could put a pair of panties on her head and pull it off like a Hollywood Movie Star!

Celebrity Sighting in the NC!

What's all the RACKET???

It is not my norm to oblige to a tantrum, but when there is a super cute solution...

Beautiful days force me to the tennis courts. My kids are always up for a game of tennis volley with mom. We were at the gorgeous Beach Town Tennis Courts having a lovely game when Juliet realized that her tennis racket did not have a cover. It had not come with a cover, and I wasn't sure what to tell her. Her tantrum became so extreme that I threw her into the bike trailer and took her home for a nap.

While the tantrum was uncalled for and exhaustion induced, the idea of creating a custom tennis racket cover for Juliet's bare racket was introduced into my mind. And I couldn't turn it off.

Tennis begins with Love.
