swimming lessons

The only thing we have really done this summer, other than move is swimming lessons. This is Juliet's 1st year and as along as I'm not anywhere close to the pool, she does great.

Cougar is in his 4th year of swimming lessons and is really getting comfortable putting his head under. He is turning into quite the fish.

Brock and I spend the swimming lessons time trying to entertain ourselves. The bleachers for watching are right next to the deep end. Brock seems more interested in jumping into the deep end than the other two!

Quite possibly the perfect cookie

Tonight we ate cookies for dinner. They had oatmeal so it was healthy, right? This recipe is passed down from my grandmother. Which one? Each one claims the recipe is hers so it's the chicken/egg thing, sort of...

Oatmeal No Bake Drop cookies

4 tbls cocoa powder
2 cup sugar
1/2 cup milk
1 stick butter
3 cups oatmeal
1 cup coconut

Directions

1. Heat sugar, milk, cocoa and butter to boil in a saucepan.
2. Once boiling, let boil 2 minutes stirring constantly.
3. Remove pan from heat.
4. Then add oatmeal and coconut
5. Place on wax paper using a teaspoonful.
6. Allow at least 6 hours to harden – yea right -

making a stink at the zoo

We had so much fun with the Moms and kids at the Utra Zoo playdate. My kids played for 4 hours in the water and never saw the animals.
I am SUPER uptight right now because of the uncertainty of my future and I seem to be lashing out at those around me.
I threw a total fit when I bought my zoo pass because they wouldn't give me my money back for parking! I had then call the supervisor 2ce (I am NOT usually that person) until I got my $5 back.
But really, I needed a win right now.

Pleasing Miss Pink

Juliet's request in the move was a pink room so here goes! The real challenge was painting the furniture to match to Pottery Barn Furniture she liked so much. Many weeks and manpower (womanpower that is) went into painting the bed and dresser (not pictured)

Is it cheating to paint grout?

So after the move the fundage is running super low. Yet the tile on this fire place is not tolerable. As a temporary fix I have painted the grout white, yet I feel like I'm cheating.

Moving

So we are off on our adventure. Leaving home for the first time. Not without running over our new neighbor's mailbox, we got moved in. I am still completely disorganized and without a couch. Had to abandon it and give it to Mitch and E when we left down. It wouldn't fit in the moving truck!
Oh well, at least all the boxes are emptied. What to do with all the piles now...???
