Easter Approaches
As Easter approaches I am finalizing all the details of what to wear and whatnot. Juliet's dress is done. Yay! If I can have my kids looking nice at church twice a year I am happy.

If I were perfect
What would life be like if I were perfect?
Let’s see…
I would get up early and exercise.
Take a shower, fix my hair and put on my make up.
I would read my scriptures and write in my journal.
All before the kids wake up.
I would make a healthy breakfast for everyone.
I would get all the children dressed, even the ones not going to school yet.
I would put things away after I use them.
My bed would be made. My kids’ beds would be made.
Mondays I would wash all the laundry.
Tuesdays I would put it all away.
Wednesdays I would clean the bathrooms.
Thursdays I would clean the house.
Fridays would be a much needed ME day, where I attend to my beauty etc…
I would unload the dishwasher early so no dish sat in the sink.
The house would be picked up because:
There would be a place for everything and everything would be in its place.
I would empty suitcases right when I got home from vacation.
I would put my shoes in the closet.
I would talk in an affirmative calm voice.
I would say only nice things about others, yet still be interesting to talk to.
I would never let my car tags expire.
I would live within my means.
I would stop spending when I run out of money.
I would consult the preplanned dinner calendar to know what to make for dinner.
My kids would do their homework and their chores. School backpacks would be neatly put away.
My credit card would be for emergencies only (without a new swimsuit counting as an emergency).
Yes, I think I know how to be perfect.
It’s the execution I have a little trouble with.

Milestones of Turning 4
Now that Juliet is 4 she gets to trade in her car seat for booster seat. Of course we had to Juliet-it-up. The flower fabric we got while we were in France; the other two we already had around the house. She is so excited to be a big girl!
A friend gave us a bike that was headed for the trash. A good bath, pom pon streamers, a basket, a honky-horn and new training wheels breathed life back into this purplicious bicycle. Juliet loves it soooo much!

$5 Custom Draperies
After
Before - For the last 5 months THIS is what has been hanging on the boys' windows. The windows are an odd size and I cut an old sheer drape in half and hung it "temporarily" to cover the windows.
I am so ashamed...
I bought 2 fabrics 1/2 yard of each, and it was more than enough for both windows. Total cost: $5.
I divided the half yards into thirds and ripped into 3 strips. 6 strips total. I then cut each strip into 4ths. The sheer measured 62 inches. I pinned the rectangles of fabric together and sewed at 5/8 inch.
I measured from the curtain rod to where I wanted the decorative edge to fall. I measured and pinned right sides together on the sheer.
Sew a straight seam. I left a few inches at the bottom of the sheer.
Flip fabric and press seam with iron, facing down.
On end, fold extra fabric in like a present. Fold hem up from the bottom 1/2 inch and the once more at 1/2 pin and press. Continue pinning and pressing full length of drapery.
Sew!
Hang drapes and love yourself for creating custom draperies that are awesome and unbelievably inexpensive!
